This list is short summer trips is specifically for families and adult/kid activities. If you want more ideas about fun check out our other categories. Traveling with kids is not for the faint of heart but getting out and seeing the world is a very good thing to do. Try to pick activities that all your participants can enjoy.
Mini Family Vacations and Short Road Trips
Aquarium -If there are no aquariums - then have some fish and chips.Go to an Afternoon Baseball Game - take a min radio so you can listen to the play by play
Go to the Beach and Play in the Waves
Bury each other in the sand with your heads sticking out
Beach Collection - Collect sand dollars and shells at a beach
Build a Sandcastle at the beach
Summer Snowball Fight - If there is an indoor ice rink nearby you can get as much snow as you can handle. Usually somewhere by the back door there is a giant pile of snow. Take a cooler and fill it up. The hotter the day the more confused your targets will be when they figure out what just hit them.
Visit a Beekeeper
Visit a working farm
Go on a camping trip
Ride bikes in a quiet neighborhood
After dinner drive to someplace new and walk around to stretch your legs and see some different sights.

Geocaching GPS - Check online. Using a GPS you can search for treasure boxes that are hidden all over the world. Lots of fun and a great way to discover nooks and crannies of where you live.
Its Tradition - Go to a specific kind of place inevery nighborhood or town you visit. Have a Latte/go bowling/ play tennis - whatever you like.
It’s the Best - Find the best pizza/soup etc in your city
Family Fun Picnic Ideas
There are four parts to a fantastic picnic.
1. Family or Friends - Somebody to have a picnic with.
2. Great food - don't take just sandwiches take the most amazing picnic box you can think of.
3. Fantastic Location - Look for a flat spot with a great view, quiet and minimal insect intrusion.
4. Easy Clean-up - Who wants to spend much time cleaning up after having the most amazing picnic ever.
Have a Traditional Picnic - You know checkered blanket,good food and good times
Candlelight Picnic - This can be amazing. If you buy some of those tea light candles you make a big circle around you. Bring as many candles as you have. If there is a fire danger – make sure it is safe to burn candles.
Mountain Top Picnic - If you don’t live near any mountains – well you are out of luck. Go to the nearest hill instead.
Sunrise/ Sunsets Picnic - Everybody knows about the sunset picnic what about the sunrise picnic? Have all your gear packed up in the vehicle and then when early morning comes - drive to a great sunrise watching location. Have pancakes and start your day with a “Holy Geez – Life is good”.
